As we were finished for the day, driving out of the park through the forested section of the one road in/out, a herd, or more accurately, a bunch of thirty or so mule deer were congregating en masse near both sides of the road. There was no shoulder to pull over and cars behind seemed to care less about stopping. A hundred meter or so away, we found a pullout, parked and hightailed it back to this bunch of deer. I guess since this is highly visited national park and cars coming in and out all day, the deer were not bothered a bit by us mere humans. We were able to get really close to take some pics, with this young one curious as ever. It was grazing, but not really, more just looking around, allowing me to grab some nice posing shots.
