Just about thirty minutes before this, we were driving through a snow storm, up this hill we had to travel to get to our hotel. And then when we reached the top, everything started clearing up and we were left with this glorious view of the valley, Rio Serrano and the magnificent Torres del Paine range. We pulled over to a lookout point at the top of this road, which perfectly framed all the elements together. You can see the clouds perched in the peaks of the mountains, with the sun reflecting its warm red, orange and yellow glow to their underbellies. After the sun had set, it still continued to change the color of the clouds from beyond, along with variations to the peaks themselves. That is what I love about Patagonia, with its ever changing weather in a flash, from snow showers to rain to sun to clouds and back again to snow, all in one day. It makes for such great photos.
